WHO WE ARE ?

International Connect was born out of passion, purpose, and shared experience.

In September 2024, two young women, Shauney and her co‑founder Oye came together with a shared vision: celebrate diverse talent and uplift international students adapting to life in the U.S. Their journey began on a college campus, working on a campaign for their African Student Organization. It was there they saw how art, music, fashion, and storytelling could unite people and spark meaningful dialogue. Inspired by the creativity around them and the struggles faced by international and first-generation students, they decided to turn their shared vision into action.

MISSION

Our mission is to create dynamic, entertaining, and educational events that provide a platform for individuals to showcase their diverse talents, from music, dance, and fashion to storytelling, culinary arts, and more. Through these events, we aim to educate and inspire audiences by celebrating the richness of African cultures, fostering greater understanding and appreciation across communities.

PURPOSE

We are committed to raising funds to create essential starter kits designed to help incoming international students with the logistics of settling into life in America. These kits offer practical support to ease the transition and help students thrive.
